KITWERU residents have been urged to vote for a leader who is going to be with them all the time but should not vote for a leader who runs away from his / her responsibilities in hardship.
The call was made by Tarime Rural Constituency John Heche (CHADEMA) yesterday during the official launch campaign for the election held at Nyamhanga 'C' Kitwiru Ward in Iringa Urban Constituency, Iringa Region.
He said residents of Kitwiru should not vote runaway leader who gave you the responsibility to represent you as ward councilor but he has left you gone to another political party.
Kitwiru Ward in Iringa Urban is going for the by-election after (Baraka Kimata) has resigned and joined the Revolutionary Party (CCM), who is still challenging but this from CCM side.
Kimata (CCM) is contesting against his opponent from Chadema Party Bahati Chengula in the coming coming by election to be held on 26/11/2017.
Heche said people should avoid voting for double standard leaders, that is, leader who runs away from his / her responsibilities.
He said people should vote for leaders who can bring about human development and should be inclusive one.
He said human development is more important than anything because development is about multi dimensional aspect. Development is not about buildings where people can not afford to pay for health services, electricity bills and other social services.
"Some people are preaching about development when they are destroying everything you have erected or built, for instance, the ongoing demolition in Dar es Salaam," he said.
He said a good government would provide social services like a basic human need for his people.
However, Heche has pointed out an accusing finger of the government for destroying democratic processes which include free political assembly and freedom of speech.
Mbeya Urban Member of Parliament Sugu, who was also one of the speakers during the campaign rally said Kitwiru resident should not vote for Baraka kimata who he rebelled as 'Judah Iscariot' and betrayer.
He said has Kimata defected to the CCM party was a betrayer and he was not worth giving leadership in the area because he will do the same when it is voted and when see things are not working he will drop his job.
Sugu said a good leader is one who is with his people what hardship situation will be he must die hard.
He urged Kitwiru residents not to entertain such leaders like Kimata because he has no leadership qualities.
In another development, Iringa Urban Member of Parliament Rev. Peter Msigwa (CHADEMa) has vowed to present a private motion in Parliament against National Speaker Job Ndugai.
He said he was not satisfied with the way conducting his job as the speaker of the national assembly, adding that the speaker was put into pocket of the government.
Rev. He did not make the statement during the campaign rally yesterday which used to advocate their candidate for Kitwiru Ward Bahati Chengula who stands against Baraka Kimata (CCM) in coming coming by election.
However, CHADEMA candidate Bahati Chengula has promised to work hand in hand with Tweru residents in developmental projects of the ward.
He said he had done a lot of things in the ward although he was not ward councilor by helping build a wooden bridge that connects the next Ruaha Ward.
"I will make sure I work together with you because I have already shown the way to participate in ward developmental projects," Chengula said.
Iringa Region has two wards that are going to participate in the forthcoming by election including Kimala Ward in Kilolo District.
The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has announced bye election of councilors in more than 43 wards that will be held on November 26 this year.
Chairman of the NEC Justice Semistocles Kaijage, has explained the reasons for election campaigns are due to some councilors to die, to resign, attend meetings and to win their victory over the Court.
Judge Kaijage said the commission had announced the polls, after a local government official informed the commission that there were 43 councilors present in 36 different councils and 19 mainland regions of Tanzania.
