He pointed out that agriculture and agro-processing are facing some challeges like high prices of inputs-fertilizers, pesticides, seeds and lack of capital investing in agriculture and agro-processing industries - no justifiable returns for loans.

The director said despite their modest successes in dairy processing, the dairy business environment continues to be hostile for operations in a number of ways; the government is yet to invest sufficiently in dairy industry, the system of taxation in the country especially agro-processing-taxation is still repressive and not business friendly.
