POLICE IN IRINGA VOWS TO CURB ALL ACTS OF VIOLENCE IN THE REGION DURING X-MAS

IRINGA: Police in Iringa Region says they will counter all acts of crime towards the festive period of Christmas and New Year and warned that people should never dare to make a mess. 

Speaking to the Guardian today (Tuesday) Iringa Regional Police Commander (RPC), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Julius Mjengi said that he has build up his police force to  deal with all criminal acts. 

He said that in this festival period towards the Christmas and New Year, the police force gives attention to all people to be careful and take appropriate measures and urgent to provide information when they see indicators of any crime in their neighborhood and various sections including business areas and houses of worship. 

It should be noted that the people with Christian faith worship during Christmas at the same time that they remember the birth of Jesus Christ. 

Experience has shown that some people use the holiday period as a loophole to make crimes. 

But the Police Force is well prepared in conjunction with other security organs to ensure that all citizens can celebrate the holidays in peace and tranquility, without any indicators to acts or breach of the peace, RPC said. 

He said that police patrols all areas will strengthened, adding that they will also track all trends crimes and catch all the people who will incite, encourage and participate in crime, violence and confusion. 

"As we celebrate Christmas and the New Year, I ask the people in the region to cooperate with the police to ensure safety and security in the region are prevailed and make sure all those who commit crimes are arrested…," said RPC Mjengi.

He said that police also provide security to houses of worship and urge believers to cooperate with the army, hence reduction of crime in the region. 

In another development, police has prohibited acts of burning tires, speeding cars while and fireworks. 

The armed forces said it would provide people with security during the celebrating of two days of Christmas and New Year in peace and calmness atmosphere.

Jeshi la Polisi mkoani Iringa lasema limejipanga kukabiliana vitendo vyote vya uhalifu kuelekea katika kipindi cha sikukuu ya Krismasi na Mwaka Mpya na kuonya kuwa kamwe watu wasidhubutu kufanya fujo.

Akiongea na SIMBAYABLOG leo  Kamanda wa Polisi Mkoa wa Iringa, Kamshina Msaidizi wa Polisi (ACP), Julius Mjengi alisema kuwa jeshi la polisi limejipanga kukabiliana na vitendo vyote vya kihalifu.

Alisema kuwa katika kipindi hiki cha kuelekea sikukuu ya Krismasi na Mwaka Mpya, Jeshi la Polisi linatoa tahadhari kwa wananchi wote kuwa makini na kuchukua hatua stahiki na za haraka kwa kutoa taarifa pindi wanapoona viashiria vyovyote vya uhalifu katika maeneo wanamoishi na sehemu mbalimbali zikiwemo maeneo ya biashara na nyumba za ibada.

Ikumbukwe kuwa, wananchi wenye imani ya kikristo hutumia muda huo kwenda kuabudu siku ambayo wanakumbuka kuzaliwa Yesu Kristo pamoja na mwendelezo wa sherehe hizo kwenye maeneo mbalimbali ya starehe. 

Uzoefu unaonyesha kuwa baadhi ya watu hutumia kipindi hicho cha sikukuu kama mwanya wa kufanya matukio ya uhalifu kutokana na mikusanyiko hiyo ya watu. 

Jeshi la Polisi limejipanga vizuri kwa kushirikiana na vyombo vingine vya ulinzi na usalama katika kuhakikisha kwamba, wananchi wote wanasherekea sikukuu hizo kwa amani na utulivu, pasipo vitendo ama viashiria vyovyote vya uvunjifu wa amani, alisema kamanda huyo.

Alisema kuwa Jeshi la Polisi litamarisha doria maeneo yote hapa mkoani pamoja na kufuatilia mienendo na kukamata watu wote wataochochea, kuhamasisha na kushiriki katika vitendo vya uhalifu, vurugu na fujo.

“Tukiwa katika kipindi hiki cha kusherehekea Krismasi na Mwaka Mpya, nawaomba wananchi mkoani hapa kushirikiana na jeshi la polisi kuhakikisha ulinzi na usalama mkoani hapa vinaimarishwa na wale wote watakayebainika kufanya uhalifu wanakamatwa na sheria ichukua mkondo wake,” alisema kamanda Mjengi.

Alisema kuwa jeshi la polisi pia itaimarasha usalama katika nyumba zote za ibada na kuwaomba waumini kutoa ushirikiana kwa jeshi hilo.

Katika hatua nyingine, jeshi la polisi limepiga marufuku vitendo vya kuchoma matairi, kukimbizi magari huku madereva wakiwa wamelewa pamoja na kupiga mafataki.

Jeshi hilo limesema kuwa litahakikisha watu wanasherehekea siku hizo mbili za krismasi na mwaka mpya kwa amani na utulivu.
