Chama cha Waandishi wa Habari Wanaopiga Vita Matumizi ya Dawa za Kulevya na Uhalifu Nchini OJADACT, Kimemuomba Rais Dkt.John Pombe Magufuli kutekeleza ahadi yake ya kufanyia marekebisho sheria kandamizi kwa vyombo vya habari nchini, aliyoitoa wakati wa Kampeni zake za Uchaguzi Mkuu uliofanyika mwaka jana.

Mwenyekiti wa Chama hicho Edwin Soko, ametoa ombi hilo hii leo mbele ya Wanahabari Jijini Mwanza, wakati akielezea hatua mbalimbali ambazo zimekuwa zikichukuliwa na Serikali dhidi ya vyombo vya habari vinavyokiuka sheria katika utendaji wake wa kazi.

Soko alitolea mfano Sheria ya Magazeti ya mwaka 1976 kupitia sura ya 229 kifungu cha 25 (1), kinachompa Mamlaka Waziri wa
Habari kulifungia gazeti lolote linalotoa habari zenye ukakasi, kuwa ni ishara ya ukandamizaji wa uhuru wa habari nchini, kwa kuwa kuwa sheria hiyo haitoi nafasi kwa chombo kinacholalamikiwa kujitetea ikizingatiwa kwamba Serikali ndiyo mlalamikaji na wakati huo huo mtoa hukumu. 

“Sheria ya Magazeti ni mbaya kwani haitoi nafasi kwa upande wa pili kujibu, huku serikali ikiwa ndiyo mlalamikaji na hapo hapo hakimu (Unfair game). Alitanabaisha Soko na kuongeza kuwa OJADACT inalaani matumizi ya sheria ya magazeti nchini ya mwaka 1976.

Wakati OJADACT ikitoa ombi hilo kwa Rais Dkt. Magufuli, baadhi ya Waandishi wa Habari Jijini Mwanza walikiri kuwepo kwa sheria zenye ukandamizaji wa Uhuru wa habari nchini ambapo wameomba sheria hizo kurekebishwa ili kukuza haki ya kutafuta na kutoa habari katika jamii.

Vyombo mbalimbali vya Habari nchini hususan Magazeti, vimekuwa vikikabiliwa na sheria kadhaa ambazo zimekuwa zikilalamikiwa ya kwamba zinakiuka misingi ya uhuru wa habari ambapo ni hivi karibuni Serikali imelifungia gazeti la Mawio kuchapisha habari zake kutokana na kuchapisha taarifa zilizoelezwa kuwa na mkanganyiko katika jamii.

UBA TANZANIA TRAINS IFM STUDENTS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGEMENT

Saturday, 16 January 2016 UBA trained IFM students on customer service management. Taking on the session was the Service Quality Manager, Queen Odunga, who explained how to handle a difficult customer. And after the session, the students tried to create a situation where the customer is complaining and doesn’t want to listen to the CSO. This came out so well as the one who was acting as CSO resolved the situation and the one acting as the client was happy that his problem was solved.

One happy student commended the UBA Team for taking them through the session “This has been a great session that we cannot easily get from our daily lectures. We thank UBA team especially Madam Queen who has highlighted on the importance and tactics of how to handle a difficult customer”, She concluded.

Queen Odunga the Service Quality Manager thanked the IFM Management for giving UBA the platform to share the knowledge on Customer service. She also applauded the students being attentive. “I would like to thank the IFM Management for providing UBA Tanzania with this platform and I would also like to thank the students for attending in numbers and being attentive throughout the session, it was quite interactive”. She continued by advising the students to take heed of the knowledge they have achieved in this session as “customer service is very vital for any business as it leads to customer retention and business development”.

Other UBA team members present at the session were also able to interact with the students giving them advise on the dos and don’ts in the finance and banking industry at large.
