20 DRIVERS TO PARTICIPATE IN IRINGA MOTOR RALLY






THE Chairperson of the Iringa Motor Sports Club (IMSC) Hamid Mbatta has urged citizens to take advantage of Iringa Motor rally to promote business due to the many visitors who come to the region to witness the event.

He said that more than 500 guests and 20 drivers from within and outside the country are expecting to witness and participate in the race that will take place in Iringa at national level starting on 22-23 April this year.

Mbatta said that racing is a great opportunity to do business with the promotion and strengthening of the tourism industry of the southern tourism circuit.

He said that there are five ways selected for the competition in which more than 302 Km both (Completion section and the transport section) from the Mkwawa water factory located in Iringa who are major sponsors of the competition.

He mentioned participants from Iringa known as Mkwawa Rally Team as Ahmed Huwel with his navigator Maisam Fazal who will be driving his new car Ford Fiesta and of Hamid Mbatta with his assistant (navigator) sultan Chana.

Another person who requested to participate through Iringa Motor Sports Club is Shanto who will be his assistant Rahim.

IMSC chairperson Hamid said that the Iringa region so far has continued to do well in the contest and are more likely to participate in the international competition.

The founder of the motor rally in Iringa Francis Mwakatundu said that his region is a threat to the tournament.

Also veteran drivers of race cars in the country Gerald Miller from Arusha and Davis Mosha have confirmed participation in Iringa Motor rally.

For his part, Iringa District Commissioner Richard Kasesela on behalf of Iringa Regional Commissioner Amina Masenza, has asked people of the region of Iringa to take precautions during race cars.

Speaking to the media yesterday said Kasesela for Saturday and Sunday during will be used for the competition to race cars of which Mkwawa Drinking water Sponsored the competition that are part of the economic growth of the region.

He also said through this competition are more likely to attract people to visit some of the tourist attractions that are available in the region including the Ruaha national park.

In addition he said that parents should be careful with children and bodaboda riders to stop chasing the racing cars during the contest because it is dangerous.


And Afande Steven Nyandongo from Regional traffic department in Iringa on behalf Regional Traffic officer (RTO) has wanted Iringa Motor sports club with the participants of the tournament to ensure that they put safety first, including follow traffic laws.
