Acting President Guy Scott has announced January 20, 2015 as the day on which Zambian's will cast their ballot to elect President Micheal Sata's successor.
The announcement of the date on which Zambians will head to the polls officially sounds the official whistle on which the various candidates jostling for the key to State House can commence official campaigns.
Among those expected to contest the election include the United Party for National Development (UPND) which is fielding in Hakainde Hichilema, the MMD, which is still yet to make a decision between Nevers Mumba and Rupiah Banda, the Heritage Party's Godffrey Miyanda NAREP's Elias Chipimo, FDD's Edith Nawakwi and Frank Bwalya of Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ)
The ruling Patriotic Front is yet to roll the dice on just who they will be floating to the Zambian people from a long line that officially includes Miles Sampa, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata and unofficially Given Lubinda and Edgar Lungu. (Mwebantu New Media )
