On his part, Mufindi District Commissioner Jamhuri David William, on behalf of Iringa Regional Commissioner Amina Masenza asked the council to ensure that they keep the equipment carefully so that they can stay longer.
He also said that in order keep medical equipment for long-term, Mufindi District Council should be able to repair the old medical equipment that has been damaged to reduce government costs of buying medical devices regularly.
At the same time, the Mufindi District Council signed a contract for the construction of a water project with Siha Enterprises Contractor from Dar es Salaam yesterday worth 1.8bn / - .
According to the Acting Water Engineer Godlisten Swai, the agreement at the Mufindi District Council and the Contractor Siha Enterprises signed on Friday, 12.01.2018 and the contractor started to mobilize equipment and technicians within seven days until 18.01.2018 until 18.01.2019 (365).
He said that the project's goal was to benefit from four villages of Sawala, Mtwango, Lufuna and Kibao, equivalent to 17,736 people according to the 2012 census.
Engineer Swai said that the project would lead to clean and safe water services in government institutions (primary and secondary), clinics and health centers currently located in Sawala, Mtwango, Lufuna and Kibao villages in the Mufindi South Constituency of Mendrad Kigola.
However, the villages of the Sawala, Mtwango, Lufuna and Kibao had long been devoid of clean and safe water.
The local villagers found water in streams and well-drained wells and water was not clean and safe.
So the district council in 2012 decided to keep these villages among 12 villages under the rural water and sanitation program (RWSSP).
