CHADEMA candidate for Iringa Urban Constituency Rev. Peter Msigwa said the expiry date CCM candidate Monica Mbega is October 31, 2010 because has done nothing to the residents of Iringa Urban residents and this the time for stay aside.
Rev. Msigwa made this statement on Thursday during a political election campaign rally held at Kihesa-Sokoni grounds, Kihesa Ward within Iringa Municipal Council, Iringa Region.
He said that Monica Mbega (CCM) has been a Member of Parliament for more than 15 years now but she has not delivered to expectations of the people of the constituency, instead they are walloping in the abject poverty.
During the Election Day, people should not forget to give CHADEMA's candidate, adding that people should not sleep but protect their votes from adulteration until the results are announced and appealed to residents not stay away but near the polling station just like what happened to people of Tarime during by-election, he told the rally.
“If you elect me as your MP, I will make sure the market of Kihesa will be modernized not the way it is now leaders have forgotten it and it is in poor condition,” he said.
In addition, he promised the residents of Iringa to vote for him together his ward councilors because he will make sure that those people living in unlawful tenant areas are given title deeds so that acquire micro finance with the smallest interest rates hence poverty reduction and socio-economic growth.
“When you give title deeds to residents living in squatter areas they will able access loans so that start small businesses hence reduction of income poverty and improved living standard of people,” Rev. Msigwa pointed out.
There are not extension services in the area although they are there a lot of extension officers they are just seated in offices because there is no one pushing to make sure they come the people and provide some extension services.
“Politics is about economic growth and good leader is the one who connect to people to the economic development,” he said.
Earlier, CHADEMA candidate for Miyomboni-Makorongoni Ward, Gervas said urged to of Iringa urban to vote for Dr. Willbrod Slaa for presidency and Rev. Msigwa for Iringa Urban Constituency at the well-attended rally for change.
Kalolo noted the former MP has not invested in the constituency instead she has invested in Morogoro Region where she has built a school, so she is not good because leader invest first at home before going elsewhere.
On her part, CHADEMA Central Committee (CC) member, Chiku Abwawa stressed that Tanzania is not as some people claim, it is a rich country only leaders from CCM have failed to distribute the natural resources evenly.
She told the public rally that poor are poor because a few greed people who have accumulated the wealth of this nation, leaders who have no sympathy about their people.
“People should wake and open their minds and make right decision on 31 October, 2010, not time be cheated and people should be vigilante over their votes by not letting other people to temper with them,” she said.
