A FIFTY-YEAR-OLD woman of Lusaka’s Zingalume Township has sued her husband for divorce, alleging that he takes sex boosters which make him have sex with her all-night long.
This has apparently irritated the woman as she is forced to stay awake throughout the night.
Teresa Mwale told the court that her husband was in the habit of taking sex boosters which sustained his erection for many hours and not ejaculate.
This is in a case in which Mwale sued Christopher Zulu, 58, for divorce after the two failed to resolve this marital dispute.
Facts before the court were that Mwale and Zulu got married in 2006 and have one child, and differences between the couple started shortly after they had their child.
“My husband drinks sex boosters, and when he does, he gets an erection but he fails to release, which keeps me awake the whole night,” she said.
Mwale said she was now tired of being married to Zulu simply because he never gave her chance to rest at night.
She said she had on several occasions pleaded with her husband to stop using sex boosters so that the couple could at least go for some days without having sex but he had flatly refused.
“My husband cannot perform in bed without taking sex boosters, and I have advised him on several occasions to stop taking them so that we can stop having sex, for a while, but he has refused,” Mwale said.
She said as if that was not enough, her husband used to move with his former wife’s underwear in his pocket alleging that it gave him strength in bed.
“My husband moves with his first wife’s pants in his pocket which he frequently uses to wipe his manhood claiming that it makes him strong in bed,” Mwale said.
She said her husband’s children had also beaten her up on several occasions and two months ago they chased her out of the house.
“My husband has kids with his first wife, hence they have not accepted that I am their new mother. As a result they beat me up and have since chased me out of the house,” Mwale said.
In his defence, Zulu told the court that he was ready to divorce his wife because she was mistreating his children.
Zulu said his wife used to insult him in front of the children and did not help him to support the family even when she had money.
“This woman does not love my children. She has a bad heart and that is the reason why she has been married to three other men before me,” he said.
Magistrate Lewis Mumba, sitting with Petronella Kalyelye, dissolved their marriage and ordered Zulu to compensate Mwale with K6,000.
The custody of their child was given to Mwale and Zulu was ordered to be maintaining him with K250.
