IRINGA: The Council of councilors in the Municipal Council of Iringa, Iringa Region has dismissed six civil servants from work and restoring back one (Lucy Mtafwa) to work for various charges, including absenteeism.
Iringa Municipality Mayor Alex Kimbe, who is also the chairman of the council of councillors mentioned the staff affected by the penalties for absenteeism that is Glory Ngowi, Anzawe Mvena, Francis Mtenge, Paul Sanga, Mkombozi Gendagenda and Tumaini Sanga.
Kimbe told a session of the House of Councilors of Iringa Municipal Council yesterday (Saturday) that the staff six (6) has been dismissed due to absence from their work stations without any notice.
"Staff were absent from work for more than two years and have been dismissed due to lack of work for more than two years without the permission of his employer contrary to the Code of Civil service of the year 2003, and from today on 20 May, 2017 the above staff are no longer workers of Iringa Municipality Council, "said Kimbe.
In addition, the Chairman of the House of Councilors said that the committee has bring back Lucy Mtafwa to work after ratification of the committee that she had committed no errors in service and will eventually be returned to work has suggested by the council.
Meanwhile, Iringa Municipal Council has collected more than 400 million shillings (400m / -) tax revenue for March 2017.
Iringa Municipality Mayor Alex Kimbe to recognize the contribution of the management of tax collection he gave compliments and conferred the certificates of revenue collection within the council to some civil servants in charge the exercise.
During the session of the council of councillors of the third quarter of the year 2016/2017, the mayor said revenues are due to tariff posters and licenses.
