24,906 CANDIDATES SITS FOR PSLE EXAMS IN IRINGA

While the National Examination Council Tanzania (Necta), officially announcing the start of the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), tomorrow, September 6 this year, across the country, the call was given to parents not to be relaxed but to initiate children's preparations later.

The call is provided by Iringa Regional Education Officer (REO) Mr. Majuto Salehe Njanga while talking to the Citizen in a special interview today.

Mr. Njanga called on parents that this is not time sit back and forgets the results will announced later and shocking at last days the child has been selected to go to secondary school while you have not been preparing.

"From now on parents and guardians, be careful to keep your savings carefully so that your children will be selected for further education, so do not see the weight of paying for secondary education," said Mr. Njanga.

Please my colleagues, if you start investing a small amount of savings to your secondary children, it is obvious that you will not miss school uniforms, books and fees, said the education officer.

Meanwhile, Iringa Regional Education Officer Mr. Majuto Salehe Njanga has said a total of 24,906 candidates who will sit for their final exams for completing primary education in 2017.

He said the examinations would start on the day of 6th and will end on 7th.

Mr. Njanga suggested that the girls expected to sit for exams were 13,412 while 11,494 boys in all schools of Iringa region.

Either Mr. Njanga has asked pupils to avoid fraud for exams outside the test room.

He added, however, that all preparations have been completed by all local schools waiting tomorrow to start the tests.

The pupils who are going to complete the primary education this year in each district are as follows; Iringa municipality is 3,738 scholars (1,976 girls and 1,762 boys), Iringa district council is 6,519 candidates (3,493 girls and 3,026 boys), Kilolo District is 5,940 students (3,221 girls and 2,719 boys), Mufindi DC is 6,820 (3,724 girls and 3,096 boys) and Mafinga Town is a total of 1,889 candidates (998 girls and 891 boys).
