SOME road accidents in the developing countries like Tanzania are caused by several factors including superstition belief for sacrifices for economic interest or benefit and also carelessness.
Some of accidents are caused voluntarily by individuals for example when the driver is drank he/she knock a person and pass away, and other road accidents caused involuntarily not a human error, for instance, driver has beaten a horn many times around a corner and he knocks person and die.
So in achieving the reduction of accidents, Chegamila Investment being the authorized Toyota dealer based in Iringa town, Iringa Region has organized a ‘Toyota customer’s week’ for them to take their cars for free initial checkup, the Guardian can disclose.
Chegamila Investment Manager, Seif Rashid told the Guardian reporter in an interview yesterday that the occasion will take place at Chegamila compounds on 13-18/11/2017.
He has asked Iringa residents and its surrounding areas to kindly bring their vehicles for free preliminary checkup and professional diagnosis which will done by qualified the master diagnosis technicians.
Rashid said they want support police and the government to avert some unnecessary road traffic accidents because some accidents were caused by the vehicles with technical fault which has not been inspected time after time.
In addition he said that Toyota client's week is a unique opportunity for Toyota cars only.
"We intend to support the efforts of the Police Force and the Government in general to reduce road accidents caused by the default cars", said Seif Rashidi.
However, Rashid said that there were ways which would help in solving the problem of road accidents in Iringa and Tanzania in general.
He said that road safety education was a key factor that can help reduce road traffic accident in region and elsewhere in the country because it was a kind of education which guide on how to use the road.
Rashid said road safety education has lacked for a long period of time but nowadays the education is provided or given to Tanzanians as one way or another of reducing/ removing completely the problem of road accidents. By Friday Simbaya, Iringa
