DANCE 4 LIFE EVENT

Dance 4 Life team in Iringa Region plus their ambassadors who happened to be the local arts and muscians like Mrisho Mpoto [Mjomba], Joh Makini and Atuganile [ENIKE] during the D4L event to mark the international year of youth held at Mbalamaziwa Secondary School in Mufindi District, Iringa Region

DANCE 4 Life (D4L) Coordinator Tanzania, Ignus Kalongola has appealed to students not indulge in sexual activities while in school but instead they should wait until when time comes hence health living.


Kalongola said that students should concentrate on studies because when they involve themselves in sexual activities will end up contracting HIV/AIDS.


Speaking on Thursday during the International Year of Youth celebrations held at Mbalamaziwa Secondary School grounds within Mufindi District in Iringa Region, he said students should not mix studies and education because the two cannot go together.


He noted that students should only abstain from sexual activities but also don’t think about hence concentrate of studies so that you can the better future.


D4L is a dynamic international initiative that actively involves young people. It encourages young people to use their voices in stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS and breaking down the stigma and taboos that surround the pandemic.


“You cannot two masters at the same but you should choose one, your parents, guardians, sisters and brothers loves you that is why they spend their money on your education,” he said.
Dance 4 Life Development is a National Concept Owner (NCO) that is implemented by Restless Development-a youth led development agency, formerly called Student Partnership Worldwide (SPW).


Mbalamaziwa is one of the 15 schools program in Iringa that is implementing D4L which will participate during special event on 27th November Big Event together the lest of the world to dance, stop HIV/AIDS and dance 4 life the same song that will be sang the very day.
According to the coordinator, D4L schools program is aimed at inspiring young people, educate so that obtain the agents of change hence HIV/AIDS pandemic reduction.


Meanwhile Mrisho Mpoto poetry, who is also one of the ambassadors of the D4L program challenged students to concentrate on studies but not to mix education and sexuality.


He urged them also not to stigmatize people living with HIV/AIDS because you don’t know maybe tomorrow it will be you.


“Don’t stigmatize people who are living positively with HIV/AIDS when yourself you have not gone for testing also you can know your sero-status,” he urged.


Other local arts who are also ambassadors in the D4L development are Atuganile Enike Bukuku alias ‘ENIKE’ and Joh Makini.


Dance 4 Life uses the power of dance and music to inspire, educate and mobilize young people to take action against HIV and AIDS.
